HOW IT WORKS

MargeTravels was created for women who want to challenge themselves, see cool shit, and form authentic friendships with women they may have otherwise never met.

It's a shared experience built around staying in a shared home, doing hard things that don't happen in your everyday life, and embracing the challenges and beauty of the outdoors.

Experiences like this create the kind of memories - and friendships - that are hard to replicate anywhere else.

The Best Views Are Earned

This is a TRIP, not a vacation.

Most trips cover 30+ miles over 5 days, with early mornings, incredible sunrises, and rewarding days on the trail. Along the way, we balance adventure with active-recovery activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, sand sledding, horseback rides, rafting, scenic drives, and time to simply enjoy the places we've worked hard to reach.

You do need to arrive prepared for the trip you booked, be willing to challenge yourself, and understand that the reward is often on the other side of some discomfort.

Every itinerary is thoughtfully planned and may be adjusted based on weather, trail conditions, safety, and what makes the most sense for the group - allowing you to focus on the experience instead of the logistics.

The Group is Part of the Trip

Our groups are intentionally small - just 3-5 hikers and 1 host depending on destination.

The MargeTravels group dynamic developed organically over the years, but I've become more intentional about helping new travelers understand what makes it work.

A MargeTraveler shows up genuinely curious about the women she's riding in the SUV with. She gives grace to her host and teammates. She communicates her needs, but she also remembers she's part of a group. She thinks it's common sense to help unload the car, pitch in when we're checking out of the house, share trail snacks, pass around ibuprofen, or offer a blister cover when someone needs one.

She signed up because she wanted to be encouraged - and to encourage other women.

You're Here for the Views

MargeTravels itineraries are flexible. We aren't usually scheduled down the the minute, unless we're catching flights.

The research has been done and you'll have a solid idea of what to expect, including targeted hikes. But weather, wildlife, trail conditions, and sometimes our own bodies can have other plans.

One of my greatest skills as your host is knowing when we need to pivot - and what adjustment makes the most sense. Sometimes that means a later start, a different hike, getting up earlier than we originally planned, or making a requested shopping or coffee pit stop.

The goal is to maximize your time in our destination given the conditions we have.
